The brand was licensed from RTL Alliancia, even though RTL never owned Télécorporation. A minor complaint came from parents who thought that the name should be Télékids (with accents), but network executives had considered that with the name coming from Alliancia, "there is no way to do a U-turn, besides we have to embrace globalization".
