TelecordTV, commonly simply known as Telecord, is a Palesian commercial television network, being launched on September 27th, 1953 by lawyer and businessman Paulo Macário Caiado.
It is headquartered in São Gonçalo, with additional operations being held in Rio de Sineiro, aside from additional owned-and-operated stations in Novo Horizonte (Minas dos Campos), Calênsia (Distrito Federal), Porto Lépido (Rio Longo do Sul), Sotero (Bahinia), Porto de Martins (São Martins), Nataus (Rainzonas), Guaiânia (Guaiás) and Lisém (Mará), being owned by Grupo Telecord, itself owned by evangelical bishop and businessman Eliseu Maceiro since 1989.
It is the second largest and most watched television network, although it has also been criticized for the influence of Maceiro's Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (IURD) over the network, its tabloid journalism, its quality decline over the years and its bias towards the various Governments that were in function.
Its primary competitors are Rede Sigma, EPT, Rede Viseirantes, Telerede and TV Educativa.
