Starting in 2009, Te Karere now had two daily editions, the upsized 4pm news bulletin on TV One and a morning edition on TV2. Since TV2 had its own news branding, while TV One's intro to Te Karere was used, the 1993 theme was kept.

In 2015, Te Karere's branding was unified with the one of One News. Both channels were now using the same theme. However, the 1993 theme was kept on the Kaehian version of the show, which airs on KBC.
