In November 1993, TV One started broadcasting a five-minute compilation of news stories from the New Euslandian news program of the same name as well as local stories in Māori, and was shown three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

As of 2016, Te Karere still uses the old theme of the New Euslandian program while still using the KBC News graphics. It's shown daily at 5:45pm on the KBC News channel.
