This was the first logo, used from its launch on December 5, 1991 up until January 25, 1997. The stylization of the 4 continues to be used today.
Originally, the 4 in a square box logo was due to launch on the network's 5th birthday on December 5, 1996, but was moved to late January 1997 due to small financial problems during December 1996, albeit managing to have adequate money for its programming.
The logo of TV4 introduced in 1997, is the longest logo ever used by TV4. The 4x4 square with a stylization of the 4 through the square, became the universal symbol of Guyish television at the start of its introduction. The logo was designed by a collaboration between Trollbäck + Company and Gédéon. Some contribution was also made by Red Bee Media, which designed the 1997-2005 ident package. The lowest logo's resolution can be 4x4 pixels.
A new version of the 1997 logo was announced on March 27, 2015, and is expected to launch this May. It is basically the 1997 logo changed to dark blue due to increasing traffic from mobile phones and allowing people to understand the logo. This is designed by Gédéon again, keeping the 2005 graphics package, but changing color to shades of pure blue (#000001 to #0000FF).
The channel announced a network wide rebrand cycle which began on November 9, 2016 by gradual rebrand of its cable channels. This cycle will end on December 5, 2016 by rebranding of TV4 as a part of celebration of the channel's 25th anniversary, for a part in December 2016, both the 1997 and the 2016 logo will be swapped each 30 seconds on the on-screen logo position. This logo is set to premiere at 18:00 CET on that date, but the on-screen logo is set to premiere just before TV4 News.
The idents were designed by Creative 4 (the in-house graphic design house owned by TV4), Red Bee Media and Gedeon, and were unveiled to the public on November 13, 2016.
