The station launched in 2014 and it was owned by the owners of the Maghrebsian radio station of the same name.

After breaking up negotiations with the Maghrebsian radio network, the station was sold off to a group of investors from Itainy, emulating RTL 102.5. The network is forbidden from using either "RTL" or "Hit" in its name in order to avoid complaints from either party.
