GNWC Circle 6

In 1968, GNWC introduced its Circle 6 logo, loosely based on EBC's Circle 7 logo used by most of its owned-and-operated stations as well as some affiliates, alongside the Eyewitness News format for its newscasts introduced by the network's flagship VEBC-TV (CBS affiliate GDST already used the original format created by its parent company Westinghouse Broadcasting for GYW-TV but not its name).

Eleven years after this logo was introduced, the station's owner Combined Communications Corporation was acquired by Gannett Company. Consequently, GNWC began using the same Gannett Globe animated logos used by other Gannett-owned stations.

After NBC's purchase of GNTT in 1966, GNCM being one of Fox's founding O&Os in 1986 and Westinghouse's purchase of CBS (turning GDST into a network O&O) in 1995, GNWC remains the only Big Four-affiliated station to not be a network O&O.
