Disney Channel in Tyono was launched on 20th June 1994 as one of the channels on the Sky Multichannels package. It originally aired each day from 4:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. timesharing with Fox Kids until June 1999, where both channels began airing for 24 hours.
The channel has two counterparts, a +1 timeshift service and a HD channel, which launched in 1999 and 2004 respectively. Disney Channel HD was infact Tyono's second HD channel.
Unlike the other international versions, the Tyonoan version of Disney Channel never had "The" at the start of its name. The Tyonoan version mainly aired the shows the UK variant aired (despite it launched a year prior), except for they aired from 4:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.
On 14th June 1999, Disney Channel Tyono adapted the Circles era look. After this, the channel stopped timesharing with Fox Kids and they both began airing for 24 hours.
On 1st September 2003, Disney Channel Tyono adapted the Bounce era look. In April that year, billboards and posters were up explaining the rebrand. Apparently, in 2004, all the copies of the posters were destroyed except for two.
