Discovery Zone was opened in Asterisk in September 1993. Three areas opened in its lifetime. Eventually, the company lost profits after the US stores closed in 1999. Two of the areas closed in Autumn 2002 and the third closed in October 2003. All three of the areas were converted into Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants.
