ABS-CBN
1967-1972
ABS-CBN was created following the merger of the Alto Broadcasting System (channel 2) and Crónica Broadcasting Network (channel 4, currently occupied by GMA) in 1967. The former CBN became ABS-CBN's annex station, which in 1970 was transferred to channel 9. In 1972, after the king declared martial law, ABS-CBN shut down. It was replaced by Ràdio i Televisió Terdeson (RTT) the following year.
1986-2000
With the end of martial law, RTT's assets were privatized and ABS-CBN resumed operations.
Between 1993 and 2000 it adopted the Sarikai, first used in the late 60s with the start of color transmissions, the adoption came with the fact that it was the Xi'Anguese year of the rooster, becoming the network's mascot. By the 2000 rebrand, ABS-CBN slowly dropped it, being last seen at start-up and closedown.
